@Phil__Diamond We added a huge game update yesterday - and yeah team's internal focus is making gameplay loops more fun right now.
That's why we talked about adding social features back into core loops - that was a part of the magic of Chapter 1 - running into friends, chatting, etc

@whatslukedoing @ChuckFresco @pixels_online yes. you removed me. and other players. look at your game, with the policies you set, it's dead. bad captain
English

@SteveDo579395 @ChuckFresco @pixels_online read through your post history a bit & there is some positivity 😅 but the point I am making is that we want to better align rewards with people who like what we’re building & believe in the mission more
English

F2P only wanting to extract sounding like bad times ahead in @pixels_online 😂

the plus-side to this market is that it is accelerating our learnings on p2e we have much better data on who the true believers in Pixels are and are going to work on tuning rewards towards them even more & rewarding more actions to foster ecosystem growth the work continues 🫡
English

What's good about @pixels_online is regardless of market conditions we can still build and test our tech.
The core of what we're working on is solving p2e at scale - clown me all you want - we're not there yet, but each month we're getting closer.
We have been giving out rewards to users at scale and building out models & prediction on what happens when you give a reward to a certain segment / cohort of users.
What we want to know are things like, if you are able to use rewards to increase revenue, to increase ARPPU, to decrease initial time to first monetization, to boost retention of certain cohorts? Can you start to build predict what users early on in the journey will convert?
This tech works without crypto too. If you build these models you can them with fiat, stables, or any currency.
How I kind of view p2e is basically through this framing: If you were able to boost certain metrics in your web2 game like retention, LTV, or k-factor by 20-30% how much more successful would it be? That's where p2e can be applied.
Pixels has been able to increase it's reward efficiency from 28% to ~70% in the last 6 months - and to be honest the biggest thing in our way has been our core game. The core game is improving month-by-month, but what's interesting is we can also accelerate our progress by working with other games too.
We're already opening our tech & current models to other teams. What's interesting is that the ecosystem may have an even better chance to reach our goal of net revenue when working with other games even quicker.
This tech that we're building will be able to generate other revenue streams outside of our main token - there are already other teams we're talking to that have willingness to pay.
Web3 offers other very interesting ways to tokenize this business model. At the end of the day, we're building our own first-party games (new ones like our pets app on the way) - but the bigger picture is we're also building a new type of ad network.
What we're building is kind of like an ad network where we reward users to participate in good / positive ecosystem behavior.
Regardless of how you feel about core pixels & state of the game - (believe me we love Core Pixels and are dedicated to making it as good as we possibly can) - there is also something bigger here that we're building - this tech is important, has real value, and people are willing to pay for it.
Teams that build things of real value are not going anywhere in the long-run. Clown us in the short-term if you want but teams that are persistent in building real things will win.
You don't have to believe in what we're doing - but I do & will keep building 🫡

I have been drawing a ton of inspiration from the story of Ernest Shackleton & his failed expedition into Antartica lately.
Shackleton and his crew survived for nearly two years in some of the harshest conditions on Earth before getting rescued. And not a single one of the 27 men on-board died.
Shackleton’s original mission was to lead the first expedition to cross Antarctica coast to coast. But before they even made it to the continent their ship got trapped in ice and it eventually sunk.
Shackleton felt a ton responsibility for his crew & he placed a huge emphasis on crew morale. Shackleton knew that keeping spirits high was as important as keeping everyone fed. What that crew endured and went through was absolutely insane. The crew dealt with unimaginable cold, isolation, and doubt.
When conditions are tough and the future is shaky, the morale of your team and community can make or break you.
Shackleton showed insane selflessness. He didn’t panic or throw crew members under the bus. He led with empathy and consistency. I aspire to have that same level of high-integrity leadership at Pixels. My goal isn’t just to create a fun game, I want to build a sustainable community that trusts us.
That level of leadership and the ability to hold it together and get everyone through the storm, that’s something I think about every day right now.
What's interesting is that even though Shackleton never achieved his goal of crossing Antarctica - what he achieved in that journey was something way greater. I know who Shackleton is, I have no idea who the person who actually crossed Antarctica first is.
We’re here for the long haul. We’ll keep pushing, building new features, and listening to our community. It won’t always be easy, but the tough path often leads to the best and most surprising outcomes.

@whatslukedoing @ChuckFresco @pixels_online You are killing this game with your change 😆. No new user, we will die

English

@ChuckFresco @pixels_online I’m ok with ‘extraction’ if you also provide value back into the ecosystem in other ways! We need to quantify that better!
English

@whatslukedoing Remove taskboard gaming and introduce new ways to earn pixel daily.
English

if pixels was collapsing & the community took over - what would you do or change
(we are not collapsing - we have plenty of runway - sorry haters we are here to stay for years)
yellowpanther (prediction arc) 💎@yellowpantherx
latest intel is that one of the web3 gaming studio is collapsing internally and decided to let the passionate community takeover. not sure if this rumor is true, but this is bad for the gamers, as it ran one of the bigger sized play-2-airdrops in recent months.
English

@whatslukedoing what do you think about the new taskboard when the cost is so high. will the data be changed?

We’re thrilled to share that @TON_Ventures and @DWFLabs , major players in Web3, have joined the StarsHash ecosystem!
⭐️ As part of this collaboration, dedicated nodes for TON Ventures and DWF Labs have been launched
⭐️ Over 1M users, 10K miners, and 34M Stars (~$500k) spent by users — Starshash is setting new standards in GameFi.
⭐️ Only 8.44% has been mined, which means we are at a very early stage.
Together, we’re building the future of decentralized mining on the TON blockchain.💎
Start a passive mining process with just a single button on t.me/starshash_bot 💫

@whatslukedoing And that coin is of course bought with pixels. Increasing coin consumption also increases pixel consumption. I really hope you read this comment from me and respond.
English

@whatslukedoing In recent AMAs, you've been talking about increasing the price of high-tier items. But have you thought about increasing the number of tasks to pay daily, increasing the consumption, which will increase the price of items? You know, we roll daily tasks, pay with coins.
English

@whatslukedoing Hi Luke. I'm sorry you didn't read this comment from me. I personally love traditional pixel games. It's about leveling up your profession and paying for your taskboards daily. It's a great game mechanic when you have to calculate macro and macroeconomics.
English

@whatslukedoing @yellowpantherx Hi. pixels is a great game with great mechanics and macro-economic vision. I hope you continue to develop the traditional Pixels game. Trust me, dungeons and guild wars are not worth developing.

web2 games companies are machines at this point in a way that is similar to big tech (META, GOOGLE, etc)
very little people own significant pieces of product (I had a friend @ google who’s job was focused around 1 single button)
I think a lot of people leaving those companies would still struggle as web2 indies for that reason
they came into web3 because it was easier to raise money at one point, but then they started to realize that they don’t only have to build a game, but also all their methods needed to be reinvented ground up here (User acquisition, tech/infrastructure, communications)
this is a brutal space, where building a game is only 30-40% of the equation

Ready to ride the $SOON wave — @tonstationgames, you’ve outdone yourselves. Season 2 + Airdrop by the millionssss$$. Going strong. t.me/tonstationgame… #SOON #tonstation
