OUR POST OF STARMER IN MAY 2024 ATTACKING THE TORIES FOR CONSIDERING THE CANCELLING OF WINTER FUEL PAYMENTS TO PENSIONERS HAS BEEN REMOVED. CLEARLY SOMEONE DOESN'T WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THIS, EVEN THOUGH STARMER'S CHANCELLOR ACTUALLY DID THIS 60 DAYS LATER! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!

@Peston Interest rate increases only affect a 37.5% of the UK population- why should they pay massive increases for everyone else (62.5%) Don’t understand how inflation will reduce if Banks, Oil companies, Supermarkets etc are profiteering from causing hardship and

The Bank of England puts the economic cost of its inflation forecasting errors in a nutshell. It concedes that just since May market expectations of the Bank’s average interest rate for three years have risen a painful 1.5 percentage points. That is a massive increment to mortgage and other borrowing costs. Bank: “These are conditioned on a market-implied path for Bank Rate that rises to a peak of just over 6% and averages just under 5½% over the three-year forecast period, compared with an average of just over 4% for the equivalent period at the time of the May Report. The sterling effective exchange rate is around 4% higher than in the May Report.”

@MartinSLewis My broker contacted Santander, who have signed up to this, to enquire about the 6 month window for securing new deals and I've been shown an email reply where they've said they're sticking with 4 months.

Info change on the Mortgage Charter. We had been told both the "click to go" interest only or extend your term option would automatically revert after six months. Just hearing today that some lenders may only do this with interest only, yet term extensions will only revert on request. Clearly as lenders build the new systems things will change. My MSE team are tracking diligently and we'll have full guide and calcs to help once these options become available (likely in August)

@MartinSLewis I contacted Santander about my mortgage deal ends in December - they will not look at it until 4 months so I could have to pay more if rates go up again I thought it was 6 months

ECB Hot Weather guidance for matches - keep hydrated, stay in the shade where possible. We recommend regular drinks breaks (every 10-15 overs) and use the fall of a wicket to hydrate.@CricketMarches @HerefordsCric
