@armano I agree wholeheartedly that the waste needs to be cut. On the other hand, it could have been done in a much less “sudden” fashion. While costs do need to be cut, I’m wary that Medicare and social security will be attacked. Some call these entitlements. They are not. We paid in.

Based on some of the reactions I’m seeing, there’s going to be very few federal employees who will actually make it in the private sector. My guess is that the ones who do, will be more senior and likely leverage professional relationships where they made money for the private company at the expense of government. And that’s a maybe. It seems like many of these employees have been sheltered by unions, have not had to deal with the fiscal realities of a private business and only know how to operate in a status quo environment. At my last job when funds dried up, I was dismissed without much notice, no severance and the founder made the call where to divert the funds of the company as is his right. I’m not saying that’s the ideal system—but it is completely night and day when compared to the protections, perks and relative security of public sector work. As a nation, our funds dried up a long time ago. We’ve only made it this far because of loopholes in the system, but the reckoning was always coming. Young people should be paying attention the most—because this kick the can down the road approach was always going to crash down on them the hardest. And that’s just the facts

I think that @VW has been using the electric van concept for over 10 years as an amazing marketing/innovation tool. It’s beyond ironic that now as it goes into manufacturing—demand for electric vehicles has hit rock bottom This is going to be an interesting one to watch
