'Untypical' Of the 22 drivers currently in #Formula2, 21 took their early steps into competitive motorsport via karting: Not #JohnBennett. His first foray onto the grid came via Ginetta's GT5 Challenge, pitched against ambitious young GT career-hunting drivers. Look at him now!

We first saw #ColtonHerta race in Formula 4, as a feisty match for Lando Norris. Since then, he's emerged as a winner in IndyCar, finishing 2nd overall in '24. But now he's crossed to Formula 2, supported by Cadillac, as he develops the skills needed to propel him into Formula 1.

This week, we're moving our focus to #Formula2's brightest stars; the racing talent seeking elevation to promising F1 careers. First up is #AlexDunne: Twice a winner in 2025, and starting 2026 with a podium at Albert Park, and a switch from McLaren to Alpine's Academy programme.

Like Oscar Piastri, #JamesWharton spent his early years in Melbourne's suburbs. Sadly, like his Formula 1 counterpart, his weekend at Albert Park also ended early, after a heavy crash with #F3 rival, Louis Sharp. Here they are, racing hard & fast, just before they made contact.
