A few years ago, most people had never heard the name Scott Pressler. Now? He’s become one of the most relentless grassroots organizers in America. I had the opportunity to meet Scott recently, and regardless of where people fall politically, it’s hard not to respect the work ethic, discipline, and consistency he brings to the table. This is a guy who helped energize voter turnout in key states during the last elections and has spent countless hours traveling the country doing the work most people never see. And now he’s laser focused on Texas. I truly believe Scott is going to play a major role in helping Ken Paxton get elected because he understands something many people don’t: Grassroots movements are built person by person, conversation by conversation, county by county. One of Genny’s kids gave her these flowers. The impact G has left on children’s lives over the years is immeasurable.  I am so proud of her! She is one of the very best! Do you have a teacher you will remember for their positive impact?

She went from poverty to planning events where Ray Charles and Michael Jackson performed for Pepsi. But that’s not what made her great. What made her great was that she never forgot where she came from. My mom was my closest confidant. No secrets between us. She was strong in the way that only people who’ve had to fight for everything can be strong. She traveled the world. She sat in rooms most people never get to see. She built a life that would have been unimaginable to the little girl she once was. And then she got sick. She passed away almost 8 years ago. Before she left, I know she carried some regrets. Most of us will. But here’s what I believe with everything in me if she could speak to us today, she would say this: Don’t wait. Don’t hold back. Don’t leave the important things unsaid. Live so completely that regret never gets a foothold. Mom, you showed me what resilience looks like before I even had a word for it. You showed me that where you start has nothing to do with where you can go. I’m still learning from you. Happy Mother’s Day to every mom who fought hard, loved hard, and left a mark that time can’t erase. 🌹 #mothers
