@miketzeng1 @PNussenzweig @sudhavallii @rachelbabij @MClerkship Thank you for your infographic, I think it highlights a persistent problem in medicine, where our implicit biases may actually manifest into reality and affect how we treat/manage our patients. I think this supports the need for further implicit bias awareness/training.

@RossWeber18 @tos20141 @jyu1523 @LisaZha15073078 @MClerkship I really appreciated how your group highlighted the need to de-stigmatize conditions, like alcohol/substance use (rather than abuse) that in reality affects everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status or other social-construct descriptor. I hope we c/w this trend going forward

COVID-19 accelerated telemedicine primary and specialty care. This paper examined patient socio-demographics associated with telemedicine use and underscored the need to address inequities in virtual medicine. @MClerkship jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

@PNussenzweig @MClerkship Awesome article! I wonder if these analyses with SES adjustments could be employed in other countries, especially in South America, where there are also vast amounts of social inequities rooted in racial/ethnic divides among the populations.

Even after adjusting for contraindications to transplant, there were still significant disparities in transplant rates among the racial/ethnic groups, indicating there are probably other reasons for the disparity including differences in perception of eligibility. #healthequity

Interestingly in this study, the authors found that while non-Hispanic blacks (NHB) and Hispanics were less likely to have contraindications to transplant, including age and malignancy, the rate of non-Hispanic Whites (NHW) deemed unfit were marginally higher.
