@sonicmul I agree, but Klopp is certainly not the only manager who sent his team out to play with intent and purpose and to play on the front foot

@StevenD1977 What I would say is we had an exceptionally special manager in Klopp. To compare every manager to him is self defeating. It's like the 30years we spent trying to recreate the boot room that got us nowhere. Don't try to emulate Klopp because you can't

The only question I’d ask after last night is: why has it taken so fucking lot to try that? The shape was better, the intensity on the pitch fuelled the noise off it, that then inspired the players and we played the whole game on the front foot Why months of passive shite?

@sonicmul As I say, the mentality was the key difference, but it was very noticeable that Mo was almost playing as a second striker at times rather than having to start right out on the touchline all the time

@StevenD1977 I didn't see any difference in Mo's position whatsoever. In fact he was more frustrating in that first half than he was all season. I think people put too much weight on systems etc rather than motivation, drive, etc. Per Soccernomics the coach themselves matters very little

@Burns05 There is some truth in that, I just hope that while it’s not too late to salvage the season, Slot has now realised how we operate more effectively and how to engage the crowd to lift the team

@StevenD1977 Tbh I feel at the current time its just football in general there isnt many teams that have been exciting to watch with high intensity football

@Burns05 Last night we got the ball into the final 3rd quicker, lots more movement ahead of the ball and got the ball into the box more frequently and competed for second balls. Its more chaotic, but its more impactful and effective

@StevenD1977 I am not saying it was a great watch/play on Sunday. Tbh I didnt feel it was regards high press or intensity was the issue I feel it was more being passive/lack of quality shown in the final 3rd. We got into great positions but chose the wrong option were as last night we didnt.

@Burns05 I think last night we got into those positions quicker. On Sunday, and most of the season we’ve allowed opposition to get back in to shape then been forced to play precision passes through with is obviously very difficult

@Burns05 I accept that earlier in the season it was more difficult, but it’s still down the mndset and approach you send the team out with as much an anything. We aren’t as good a team when we play slow paced and passive, that’s just the truth

@StevenD1977 Playing Jones at RB still is compensating for a proper fullback. Frimpong minutes are being managed by Slot due to his injuries over the course of the season

@Burns05 I’m not having it that last night was the first time this season we’ve been in position to do that

@StevenD1977 Last Sunday v Spurs we didnt have everyone available likes of Dom had to play out of position. And I also I feel that we had one eye on last night game therefore became complacent in our play

@Burns05 Why didn’t we do it last Sunday against Spurs? Or has the adjustment period literally finished on monday? What changed that significantly in 4 days that meant we couldn’t do in on Sunday but we could on Wednesday?

@StevenD1977 How many times have we had all those players fit and available that can play their natural positions? This season not many. New players coming in taking time to adjust. Two circumstances why sometimes you need to compensate for

@Burns05 Again…what do you think those circumstances are? Same set of players last night, they just started the game with a few tactical changes and a completely different approach. Which circumstances specifically meant that last night was the first time we could do that.

@StevenD1977 Slot has been trying to tell everyone the circumstances all season why the struggles but people didnt want to listen they wanted to bash him

@sonicmul I think the formation and selection helped. Our best CM was in the middle, full backs stayed wide and created more space and Mo was closer to goal where he’s more dangerous. But key difference was the intensity, the snapping into tackles, looking for attacking pass a lot faster

@StevenD1977 Do you think it was a change of formation that did it? No chance. It was the circumstance of being a goal down. It was the fact that Wirtz took 6months to settle. That we actually had Frimpong fit.People like to think it's a simple tweak that changes everything. Never that simple

@Carl_M79 I hope so, if we retain the shape where he’s more central and closer to goal last night he’s got a chance. Though he did miss a lot of chances and touch was poor for the most part, hopefully he takes confidence from the goal and assist

If Salah can have some sort of mini resurgence between now and May that would be most welcome. Fingers crossed the injury isn't a bad one.

Just a thought. Had we played with that same level of intensityand tempo from minute one against Spurs, what score do we think it would have been?

@GraemeKelly1 Being brutally honest last night summed up the season in one evening. Multiple times he missed easy chances, control continually let him down, lacked his old extra yard. But he’s come away with a worldie and assist.

I use my eyes. He been the best of the absolute best. He’s not even near it atm. I’ve never been happier for a player to score as last night but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s a shadow of him former self. #LFC

It's not rocket science, I know, but the key now is for Liverpool to go to Brighton and play exactly the same way. I feel a poor display is as likely as a good one, to be honest, but plenty of signs of encouragement last night.

@CouchNish I think he was in shock and had probably lost a decent amount of blood so no point risking walking him off

I know this is an arsehole take but… was a stretcher really necessary for the almost severed thumb?
