On the airwaves with Jacob and El Triple M Bundaberg this morning before heading out to help with the clean up.

It takes a village. In tough times, Queenslanders band together to clean up and to recover from natural disaster. That’s what I saw this morning when I dropped into the Bundaberg Community Recovery Centre with my mate @TomSmithMP. To all the volunteers on the ground, thank you!

The Sunny Coast is growing, but it’s being neglected by the LNP. They cut affordable housing on the Coast, making it harder for you to buy a home while the cost of basics keeps rising. This week I met with locals to discuss the region’s future. The Sunshine Coast deserves better.

It’s women’s week - so I thought I’d check out Mackay Basketball’s Ladies Daytime games.

The Sunshine Coast is growing and growing fast. We need infrastructure that keeps pace, but major road projects have dropped off the priority list and locals get a bus instead of rail to Maroochydore. Our entire Labor team was on the ground listening to local needs.

Being compared to a dictatorship, being compared to Trump… Integrity experts are comparing David Crisafulli’s leadership style to that of Iran and the US. They said this LNP government have effectively been “removing the power of the people”. These are dark times.

The highest fuel prices in the country, and towns running dry. It’s time for David Crisafulli and the LNP to adopt our plan to cap fuel increases, and time for them to ensure our towns and farmers have the fuel they need. Sign our petition to make transport more affordable.

No matter where you live in Queensland, things are becoming more unaffordable than ever. Mackay is no exception. Affordable housing, cheaper fuel, good pay for our frontline workers - that’s what these locals are passionate about and I am too.

Free speech? Not in David Crisafulli’s Queensland. We voted against the LNP’s laws to criminalise free speech, and when legal experts and community groups across the political spectrum speak out on it - you know it’s just not right.
