To mark the 400th anniversary of the publication of #Shakespeare #Folio400 we've had a look at performances held at the Gordon Craig Theatre #Stevenage. Most performed? A Midsummer Night's Dream. Earliest? Othello, in 1976, starred Edward Fox and Robert Stephens.

We've lent carvings by Harry MacDonald to St Michael's church in Woolmer Green for their event on Saturday 23 Sept 11am-4.30pm, includes talks about the church and an organ recital at 1pm. You can find out about the woodcarver and his amazing house here: shorturl.at/fkxW5.

Its #PlasticFreeJuly and we thought we’d take the chance to talk about plastic in the collection, how plastic has been used, how it became a problem, and how things were made before plastic was invented. Keep an eye out over the next month to learn all things plastic!

Today sees the start of the Tour de France and did you know Stevenage has over 27miles of cycleway? That means to cycle the length of the Tour de France you would have to circuit Stevenage just under 78 times! Phew, instead lets look at some historic photos of Stevenage Cyclists!

Take a walk round #Stevenage town centre, a radical first UK experiment in pedestrian only shopping now 65 years old! Local historian Hugh Madgin leads this evening's walk (Wednesday 21 June) at 7pm. Meet at the museum. Cost £5 (£4 conc).

Soon, we'll have a new place to call our own! So, we're putting the Fun in Fundraiser with a Quiz Night on the 7th of June to raise funds for the new museum - come along for some cheese and a test of your general knowledge!

It has been in its present home in the undercroft of St George’s Church since 1977. Almost everything in the Museum has been donated by members of the public or local organisations!
