@ChrisAndrews15C I don’t know why they can’t just go back to running these cars. Update them with modern safety items and race. Back then teams were able to have one main sponsor and color scheme for the entire season. Like the 8, 28, & 24. Now, it’s like they have a different scheme each week.

6/1/1974 - Fremont, Ohio's Jim Linder won his 2nd consecutive Eldora Sprint Car feature event. The win was Linder's third in four races at Eldora and he beat Al Daugherty, Doc Dawson, Bubby Jones and Tony Baeber.

@DannyMac22m @braddoty18 I think the only way to make the racing better would be to go back to dished wings and run hard right rear tires. Something like the American Racer MC2 compound. However, that will NEVER happen.

@Stevenlinder312 @braddoty18 So, in your opinion, would making a 1” rule make people run even more angle and do the opposite of what changing the rule is intended? I always think less grip makes racing better, but maybe the hole punched will remain huge….🤷🏻‍♂️

I think 1 inch would have to help and if mandated everybody’s the same, so what would it hurt? I know some will argue that It takes one more tool away from crew chief and his set up, but I think it would help the Racing especially on high-speed tracks.

@DannyMac22m @braddoty18 I feel the 1” would give the lead car a little less grip as opposed to the 2”. Guys may increase some. The cars that are following will still be in that huge pocket of bad air. The intent of the flat wing was to unstick the cars. I think in a way it has had the opposite effect.

@braddoty18 The problem is exaggerated on big tracks. I think another clue about the flat wing punching a much larger hole in the air is lack of track records being broken. Some track records have stood for a long time even with engines making way more power.

@braddoty18 I feel that the issue is mostly the flat wing. Back when dished wings were allowed, we ran less wing angle. The huge amount of wing angle we run now is punching a much larger hole in the air making it almost impossible to follow directly behind another car.
