@slbsn As ever, thanks for your clear thoughts and explanations on this subject. I just wish more people would take the time to read your work rather than making stuff up and claiming it as ‘fact’.

I don't know how many ways to say it but as of the weekend, the parties in 115 had not received any decision in final form, draft form, embargoed, in code, in secret or any other way. But it is coming because it has to come - what and when we see it remains a different question. In the meantime... x.com/slbsn/status/2… x.com/slbsn/status/2…

@WeareManC1ty It’s looks very busy from here too - and the team haven’t even arrived! No doubt the peddlers of the ‘Emptyhad’ myth will tell us that our eyes are lying to us though ….lol.

@UrmstonMeadows Lol. Currently enjoying the atmosphere at a sold out Co-op arena waiting for Noel, Blossom’s and Doves and a manager and some players who’ve no concept of finishing behind United. “We see things you’ll never see ….” and all that….

Wow, just watching MOTD from yesterday. The empty seats at City 😵 Incredible, they won the cup and their best manager ever is leaving and they can't even fill their stadium, nowhere near. It's unfathomable.

@mufcaways_ To their credit, these away fans aren’t even pretending that City don’t matter to them. They clearly care about Pep and his record of never finishing below United …… 13 seasons and counting eh ……

@terrychristian @IanRouge Couldn’t just be that the delay is caused by the fact that the PL hasn’t got any ‘smoking gun’ evidence that will find City guilty. Of course, if they did have such evidence then City will have been found guilty already wouldn’t they?

@BBCMOTD @BBCSport Couldn’t agree less. It was a classy thing to do and Aston Villa deserve lots of credit for realising yesterday wasn’t only about them. Kudos to Emery and his players.

@UtdMaI A totally one-eyed take and a factually incorrect one. One was the greatest winner. One transformed the way football is played across the league. Take your choice which is greater.

🚨 Pep Guardiola is leaving Manchester City. And before City fans start writing his obituary as the greatest manager of all time, let’s have a quick word. 19 trophies in 10 years at City. Impressive. Genuinely. Nobody is taking that away. But let’s put some context around those numbers before the statues get commissioned. Guardiola had the most expensively assembled squad in Premier League history at his disposal. Every single transfer window. Every single year. Limitless resources. A club willing to spend whatever it took, and a Financial Fair Play case hanging over them that somehow never seemed to slow anything down. Need a full-back? £50 million. Need a centre-back? £60 million. Need a striker? £100 million. Need depth? Buy another international. Most managers are forced to solve problems. Pep simply replaced them. Now compare that to Sir Alex Ferguson. Sir Alex won 13 Premier League titles, 2 Champions Leagues and 5 FA Cups with a club he built from the ground up. He developed young players, rebuilt multiple generations and dominated English football for 27 years, not 10. He did it through the Eric Cantona years, the Roy Keane years, the Cristiano Ronaldo years and the Ryan Giggs years. Different squads. Different eras. Same outcome.

@arghkid Centurions, fourmidables, treble winners as last seasons champions, four in a row…. plus numerous unbeaten and goal scoring records all unique to Pep teams. All incredible achievements. Yet I agree that Leicesters title is still the best PL achievement of all.

@BBCSport As a United fan. I genuinely admire Pep, first and foremost as a decent human being, and secondly as an exceptional coach. Rivalries aside, it’s impossible not to respect everything he’s achieved and the way he carries himself. Wishing him nothing but best.

Manchester City are preparing for Pep Guardiola’s exit after Sunday's game against Aston Villa. Sources have told BBC Sport that Guardiola is expected to leave the Etihad at the end of the season, though City aren’t currently commenting. Work towards Guardiola’s anticipated exit is under way at City, with members of staff of the understanding he will leave. It is understood members of the squad are also anticipating his departure after the Villa game this weekend. Former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who worked under Guardiola at City, is the front-runner to replace the 55-year-old. It is understood City have turned their attentions towards how best to mark the tenure of their iconic boss.

The joy of opposition fans celebrating Pep leaving City tells you all you need to know about his genius. His departure is a huge loss to English football. He changed the game at all levels & gave me some of the best times I've ever had watching City. I am forever grateful to him.

@utdAdams You’re absolutely right. However, this threads replies reveal that many United fans are very much stuck in the past, don’t realise the impact of finishing behind City for 13 successive seasons is having on the club’s MCR fanbase, & are generally clinging on to myths over facts.

They’re 5 FA Cups away, 5 Premier Leagues away, 2 UCL’s away, they’ve won more league cups, they’ve won a treble, they’ve eclipsed our three peat and have dethroned us in our own city. You can’t keep ignoring them & living with the 115 charges copium.

“You’ll see in Cup Final will be sold out” yet here we are empty seats galore in the City end. When are they going to put their hands up and admit their plastic prostituted club will always be a laughing stock? “Yeah but we won trophies” - no one cares, they’re all plastic
