If you’re not embarrassed by this behavior from the so-called commander in chief, then I don’t know what your threshold is. This is a humiliation ritual, putting the United States—once the most powerful force in the world—on display in the worst way. There was a time when a president didn’t need to shout about power. When they spoke, their words carried weight. Speak softly and carry a big stick. Because people knew that when the United States president spoke, they spoke with clarity. Their words mattered.
