It’s coming up on 5 years since HLTCO became my full-time job and for whatever reason, I’ve just sat here and thought about how mad that is. All I ever wanted to was talk about football for a living; it became clear to me very early on (for obvious reasons) that I wouldn’t be able to play the game to a decent standard so I threw myself fully into the next best thing; writing about it. I geared my A-levels and degree (all the way back in 2008) towards sport journalism but I never, ever expected to be self-employed and able to record podcasts about football for a living; I know it’s cliched as fuck but the backing of people on here has completely changed my life. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t feel insanely privileged to call this my job and I owe it all to the support of you. Social media has a lot of downsides as everyone knows but for me personally, it’s given me a voice and the chance to realise the dream I’ve had since the age of 9-10 and there simply aren’t the words to explain how much that means to me. Thank you to everyone who continues to back me; I am eternally grateful. ❤️
