@Stew_Wills @ronaldobrown_98 Lower possession numbers don’t mean we didn’t try to press high, we just got sliced through. Ideally Carrick wouldn’t get the job for me but he symbolises stability and that’s what they want if they can’t get a top class manager.

@daz8756 @ronaldobrown_98 If the execution was bad that’s fair enough. If I see the right intentions I can allow for lack of player quality. But I don’t see intentions to press high, play a high line, aim to play on the front foot & dictate the play & get bodies forward. I see the opposite of that.

@Stew_Wills @ronaldobrown_98 Got me on the stats but to say we only play a mid/low block is wrong. you see the amount of times v Fulham, Palace and B’mouth that we pressed high and were just played through so easily? I agree that when the oppo has momentum we sit back and v your city’s and arsenals sit back

@Hosang 48% average possession as well. Now I don’t care too much about having possession for the sake of it, but 48% at Manchester United! Are we a team that’s fighting for survivable or a team that has aspirations of winning trophies?

@daz8756 @ronaldobrown_98 You’re simply in denial as to how poorly we have been playing. The results have been great. But it’s not sustainable long term & it’s a really tough watch. It’s not acceptable for Manchester Utd to play this way at all. U can excuse 1 or 2 games, but it’s every week.

@Stew_Wills @ronaldobrown_98 Google AI for getting manager info is crazy. Glasner isn’t horrible just the whole thing that you’d take an ‘endless’ amount of managers over Carrick is horrible. Glasner plays low possession high counter, they let the oppo have the ball and when you’re palace you can do that.

@daz8756 @ronaldobrown_98 Iraola is a significantly better coach than Carrick & plays significantly better football that’s a lot more aligned with Utd than Carricks defensive counter attack game. Do I want him? Not particularly no, but he’s an example of a far better coach available.

The manager situation has been one of uncertainty and confliction with a lot of fans confused on what the club are actually doing, so I'm going to try give a bit of an overview from what I've heard, as of the time i'm tweeting this. It's been very well reported that Michael Carrick is the favourite for the permanent role. A lot of people within the club like him due to his calm and composed personality and how's he's done since joining in January. The plan was always to appoint a permanent in the summer but he's done so well, he's being considered for the permanent role. One thing I've heard is that there is a level of hesitation and wariness amongst senior officials regarding Carrick. This doesn't mean he won't get the job, but there's concerns regarding whether he can play a sustainable brand of football long-term and be the man to win us trophies given his experience. I expect some level of formal talks with candidates in the near future however it's not inaccurate to say Carrick is in the lead. I also know this: Julian Nagelsmann is admired internally with some form of contact with his representatives held - just to see his availability and viability. #MUFC have liked him for years now and wanted him when ETH got sacked. Vivell has advocated for him internally. The main obstacle has always been and will be the world cup as the German manager is open to joining. Jason Wilcox, Omar Berrada and co all know this decision could potentially impact the club's futures for the next decade given the failure of how they dealt with the ten Hag and Ruben Amorim situation. This is why there has been a lack of movement and updates as they take caution with every step. 'Whatever decision they decide to do, it MUST be right', is the feeling internally.

The Bayern president then regretted sacking him & wanted him back. He was literally on course for a treble lol. But yeah let’s stick with a failed boro coach.
