Julius Malema is one of the few that shaped South Africa parliament before EFF no one watched RSA parliament proceedings. He doesn't deserve to be humiliated like this especially for petty crimes.

Is there really any point in trying to appeal? Realistically what are the prospects of success. There's a video of the man firing a gun in a public setting and putting lives at risk. Sounds to me like one of those go straight to jail, do not pass begin, do not collect $200.

Even accidental discharge of a firearm is a crime. Buddy the law is the law, discharging a firearm is a serious crime.

Julius Malema was charged not because he shot a gun in the air, but because Afriforum opened a case against him for shooting a gun in the air. If we want Afriforum charged with treason/incitement/whatever, someone has to stand up and go and open (and pursue) a case against them.

Nobody can say Julius did not shoot a gun in the air. And nobody can say what he did isn't a crime. It is just a crime that people have generally gotten away with coz nobody ever bothered to prosecute it. Until him. Somebody has to pursue *them*

@Tessa_Dooms He didn't do it negligently he did it intentionally and it was planned. Most firearm discharges are accidental and in the heat of the moment. Also doesn't endanger so many people. Most people also admit they did it instead of lying under oath.

@JordiGriff The case itself has not been appealed . That stands as guilty . The sentence itself (term) has been appealed - another court may come to a different conclusion - sentence term . It can be at his detriment. The other court find the sentence to lenient and increase it !!
