One day, perhaps Marner will be mature and reflective enough to answer why he wasn't the playoff performer that he is with #VGKs.

MOCK TRADE
TOR gets a good puck-mover in Byram who had a good playoff run. Helps fill out the top end of the D-Core. BUF, already with a surplus of LHD, get a righty who can supplement their youth/skill with size and experience. They get two valuable trade chips as well.
Jeff Marek hints that the San Jose Sharks have a ton of young forwards, and he wonders if there’s a trade to be made sending one of those young forwards to Edmonton in exchange for Darnell Nurse.
He specifically name-dropped Collin Graf.

I rather lose in the first round every year knowing we were the better team than fluking our way to a fraudulent conference finals appearance just to get swept.
I think even removing our Leafs fan bias, there's probably not a more ideal NHL landing spot for Gavin McKenna than the Leafs when you think about it:
- Insulated by other stars in their prime who will take most of the pressure
- Mentored by TWO other highly-touted 1st overall picks, with Sundin being a third
- Should be paired with a centreman who is defensively responsible and one of the best goal scorers in the league, complimenting his own game perfectly
- Will get to work with the league's top strength and conditioning coaches and nutrionists all summer to help him build some lean muscle for the NHL
- Canadian born star in Canada's biggest market = endless marketability and sponsorship opportunities
- Will play for the team who has the most prominent First Nations captain in NHL history (Armstrong)
