I agree with the better pitcher and career. However, Bumgarners passion (heated intensity) on the field is seen by his intensity. Maddux was usually calmer and measured. His intensity spoke in his filthy pitches and pin point accuracy. He also was measured and cunning. Waiting for future moments to strike. See: Bagwell midseason homer vs Playoff at bat later that year. He gave up a homer to set Bagwell up later in the year. He wasnt vain for stats. He wanted to win in the playoffs.
