30 years on, we remember the 16 children and their teacher who lost their lives at Dunblane Primary School, and all those affected by the tragedy.

Sorry, try not to do controversy on here, but @Nigel_Farage to be clear, you are one of the most odious humans on the planet. Your children must be disgusted. Please just fuck off somewhere where no one has to listen to racist view of the World.

@reformexposed Reform uk say ‘Dunblane stands as a solemn reminder that the safety of our children must always come first’. Nigel Farage on the other hand says our guns laws are ‘ludicrous’ and a ‘knee-jerk’ reaction.

✅ Exciting plans to create a new interpretation and wayfinding trail that will transform the visitor experience in Stirling have been approved. The £330,000 Scottish Government funded project will deliver a package of improvements that will take visitors on an engaging and immersive journey through the heart of historic Stirling and boost economic activity across the city. Funded through the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal – a £214 million partnership between both Stirling and Clackmannanshire Councils, the University of Stirling and the UK and Scottish Governments – the new Stirling trail will help people uncover the fascinating stories, people and history, connecting key heritage, cultural and commercial destinations. It will encourage visitors to explore more of Stirling beyond primary attractions, such as Stirling Castle which attracts over 600,000 visitors annually, taking them to other attractions and businesses in the city centre. Full story: stirling.gov.uk/news/green-lig… For more information on the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal, visit: stirclacksdeal.com

Huge moment from @GeorgeMonbiot on #BBCQT. Britain and the US overthrew Iran’s elected leader Mohammad Mossadegh in 1953 after he nationalised oil. The Shah followed. Then the 1979 revolution. Decades later the consequences are still unfolding. That’s imperial blowback. Britain defended corporate oil interests abroad and yet at home we let our own resources flow into the global market instead of protecting national wealth. History has consequences. #IranWar

😍 This morning on Radio 2’s Breakfast Show, Scott Mills revealed that Radio 2 in the Park will take place at City Park in Stirling, Scotland, from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th August. Radio 2 in the Park is the station’s annual flagship live music event, bringing some of the biggest UK and international artists to cities that may not otherwise host such a large-scale event. Over the three-day festival, some of the most loved artists and Radio 2’s presenters will perform across three stages at City Park in #Stirling. With tens of thousands of music fans expected to attend, the event promises to be an unforgettable music spectacular. This follows last year’s Radio 2 in the Park which was held in Chelmsford, 2024’s event in Preston and 2023’s festival in Leicester. The station – which is the UK’s most listened to radio station with a weekly audience of 12.7m – will move to City Park Stirling for Radio 2’s favourite three days of the year, with all the action being broadcast on Radio 2, BBC Sounds as well as iPlayer. Many of the station’s presenters will decamp to the city for the weekend and, back by popular demand, a Friday-night DJ party will kick things off ahead of a weekend packed with stellar live performances. Helen Thomas, Head of Radio 2 says: “Everyone in the Radio 2 presenter family is hugely excited to be heading to Stirling for our Radio 2 in the Park weekend. When they all found out together that we were going to Scotland, a cheer rang out across the room! "We’re now busy building a line-up of some of the world’s most loved artists to perform live for tens of thousands of people in the park, as well as for millions of listeners and viewers at home or on the move.” Scott Mills, who hosts the UK’s most listened to Breakfast Show, which attracts a weekly audience of 6.5m listeners, says: “What an absolute treat for Radio 2 in the Park to land in Scotland this summer! "Every time I’ve DJ-ed in Scotland, I received the warmest welcome, so I truly cannot wait for what promises to be the most brilliant weekend in August. A Scottish crowd is the best crowd. Stirling - we’re coming for you!” Stirling Council Leader, Cllr Susan McGill said: “We can’t wait to welcome fans and artists to our amazing city for an unforgettable celebration of world-class live music set to the stunning backdrop of Stirling Castle. "While Stirling has a proud track record of successfully staging major music events, Radio 2 in the Park will be our biggest one yet – so this is incredibly exciting news and a huge boost for the city and the wider region. We will see you there!” Last night, Stirling’s National Wallace Monument and the Tolbooth live music venue were illuminated in orange to celebrate the upcoming Radio 2 in the Park, coming to the city this August. @MarshSongs They’re gonna be bigger than the Beatles. The music industry is tough, so try not to burn out or get caught up in the glamour. 2nd album is always the hardest, but you won’t be short of material. Good luck.

🇬🇧 Royal Mail: Privatisation increased commercial pressure. Digitalisation reduced letter volumes. The combination has put the Universal Service under strain. 🇫🇷 La Poste, France: No dividend pressure from private shareholders bc state owned. Public service obligations are political priorities. Loss-making rural routes are tolerated. Diversified into: Banking (La Banque Postale). Insurance. Local public services. So letters don’t have to carry the whole financial burden. Political protection of rural delivery Rural presence is treated as: Social infrastructure. Territorial cohesion. Letter volumes are falling in France too. The system is explicitly treated as public infrastructure rather than purely commercial logistics.
