Yes Iowa SMU Kansas State etc will get that opportunity but it will ultimately be as “worthless” as playing in a bowl. Can those teams pull off an upset? Yes. Can they pull off 2, 3, 4 or 5? Absolutely not. All expansion does is sell those teams on the fantasy that they could in theory.

Nope Could the SEC eventually be on board with a 24 team playoff? Perhaps. But the idea that 100% of their AD’s are pushing for expansion right now is flat out wrong Unlike the Big 10, the SEC values the sanctity of the regular season and it’s place in expansion decisions

But wanting teams to earn their way in and celebrating a championship where one team didn’t do that is a contradiction

@macandcube there’s already been a 3 loss team… why do people keep saying “I don’t want 3 loss teams in?” They’re also acting like the SEC isn’t adding a conference game, so naturally, you’re going to have more losses when one of the cupcake games goes away

@macandcube CFB is one of the only sports that’s truly bulletproof. Expansion isn’t for “us.” All of this makes sense if you’re trying to keep more of the audience engaged for longer and/or get new eyeballs. NW in the 24 team might not do anything for us, but it does for NW fans
