i’d like to take this time to wish my favorite follows - the few that have absolutely TRANSFORMED my trading since the end of last summer - the merriest of christmases. it all started with @jfsrevg and @_TradeJournal crushing my entry in $CAVA. LOL. in no particular order.

Major cheat code for life: Assume good things are still ahead. You are not behind. You are not too late. You are not disqualified by your past. One new season can change the entire story. Keep showing up with belief. The best chapters are often written after the hardest ones.

@StockBoogie0308 It’s a slippery slope, but some of our best victories probably came from some healthy competition right?

Do you compare your results to other traders on social media — and is that a healthy habit?

Never thought I'd say this, but I've "met" a lot of wonderful people on Social Media 🙏 Kind words from Randy: "Really liking your advice. I have had a horrible year but I realized I knew nothing before taking your courses and seeing how you trade. I never used a stop loss 1 time for example since I started last year. I now created a trading journal on excel and I am going to improve and keep learning!" When my wife read his words she said "See! ... worth it!" So, I thought I'd compile some of the nice things that will get me through some of those long charting sessions 😂 I believe that every patient person can learn how to trade. Have a blessed week!

There are 2 stocks currently that stand out above everything else by a mile. They look like they could be the $SNDK & $MU of the next cycle. Do you know what they are?

Whenever the market slows down and doesn’t suit my style I always go back and listen to Amrit Sall’s chapter in Unknown Market Wizards to keep myself in check and remind myself of the importance of waiting for better times. The ‘Unicorn Sniper’ known for his incredible patience to sit and wait for the next fat pitch. His results are absolutely mindblowing, an average annual compounded return of 337% over 13 years. Some of my favourite quotes from his interview below: ‘The big trades are pretty simple, you don’t have to go looking for them, but you do have to wait for them. Trading opportunities in the market ebb and flow, there will be periods in the market where the opportunities dry up and there will be nothing to do. In those nothing periods if you’re looking for something to do, that is when you can create real damage to your account.’ ‘I now know that 90% of the time the market is not going to provide any opportunities, and 10% of the time I am going to make 90% of my profits.’ ‘It’s what you don’t do that counts. Patience is the key word, successful trading is the art of doing nothing, it’s what you don’t do between the real trade opportunities that will determine your success in the long run. You can do so much damage to your mental capital between trades that when the big trades turn up , you’re not ready for it.’

@n_bancroft2 would love to know how you got the NDFI and QQQ to be a line graph instead of candles on the same pane.

Notice how every decent leg up in the QQQ since 2020 has come when the stocks above 50MA has hit at least 30. Ideal scenario for me is we see more selling and get this down to at least 30 area, get majority of people max bearish and then see leading stocks start to detach from the indexes. Could be weeks or months, all we can do in the meantime is be patient, not get chopped up, and keep up with our daily processes to identify those bucking the trend and the next groups that will lead us higher.

Not going to put people on blast but it appears every 5-8yrs a new batch of people need to go broke. Most of the 2020 new traders are gone after 2022 bear. The p/e & it’s different talk as usual #humannature

My MTD returns: -19.2% in spec account -6.5% in IBKR -2.6% in my IRA (larger than the other two combined, all stocks) I've mentioned trimming and derisking for the past two months. The gravy train was bound to stop sometime

Will we get the $QQQ capitulation bounce or the flush? Cautious here — textbook ROUNDING TOP, price sitting right on the neckline test. News: - Jun 23: AI bubble fears spark a chip/tech rout (Nvidia, Micron slide) - Jul 1: Rotation out of tech into blue-chips drags Nasdaq lower - Jul 8-13: Semis selloff deepens (Intel -21%) as Fed rate-hike odds rise POTENTIAL ROUNDING TOP BREAKDOWN 🛎️ 696.64-704.30 neckline — the trigger. Hold it, we get the bounce. Lose it, the flush accelerates. Big tops always "just test" the neckline first. Watching closely.

Guys…. Life is hard. Trading is hard. EVERYTHING worth doing is hard. The greatest rewards come to the hardest workers. Have a bad week? No one cares. Portfolio down? No one cares. Get your sh*t together and get ready for next week and the future. What’s done is done, and no one is coming to save you. It’s on you. Act like it. Now, LFG 🤝

@SRxTrades thanks for sharing, sean! question: do you not ever add to a position? i love your sell rules - extension, first close below top ema, and first close after second ema. but often times the second ema is a good place to add.

You cannot outsmart the moving averages... The market is showing, why its so incredibly important to have a proper exit strategy Many stocks that ran 100%+, now back to the exact spot they were a few months ago You can avoid round tripping those gains using the EMA's Simple exit strategy: -Trim into strength/key level (25%) -Close under 8 EMA (25% trim) -Close under 21 EMA (25% trim) -Close under 50 EMA (50% trim) (You can also trim on the way up on extensions like $ARM) This saved me a MASSIVE roundtrip on a few of my best trades this year Goal is not to sell the tippy top... Its to ride the momentum of the trend for as long as possible

Lee Tanner had a rule. If three new positions failed he would stop trading until he figured out why. Most of the time he had the market direction wrong.

@edgeofsteve I didn’t over trade much but took a big position in $DELL breakout that got stopped out. Looking back , smaller position size or sitting on hands would have been way better.

This chop has been worst than I expected and I have been too active in stuff that just wasn’t ready, against my own advice. I’m down to just three positions: $LLY, $SNOW and $DDOG. The thing that has saved by bacon has been that my position sizes have been small and I’ve been fairly diversified.
