Stocksfield Avenue

Year 5 have been exploring glaciers by modelling them with ice cubes and rocks creating glacial landscapes! They moved the ice cubes to mirror glacial movement and even poured warm water over one of our models to see how rising temperatures and global warming impact glaciers.

🦎✨This week, our Nursery children have been learning all about chameleons—how they change colour to camouflage and blend into their surroundings! 🎨🌿. I bet you can't spot our nursery children camouflaging themselves! 🌟👏

Year 3 have thoroughly been enjoying their cricket sessions over the last few weeks. This week they have been developing their batting and fielding skills in a range of exciting and fun activities!🏏

Our Reception class has been busy learning about and creating their very own dragons and chameleons this week! 🎨✨ From discovering fascinating facts to designing their own mythical and colorful creatures, their creativity and curiosity have been amazing to see.

A great start to science club. So far, they have explored using invisible inks and completed an egg-drop challenge. One team successfully managed to drop their egg without damaging it - Mrs Palmer was thrilled as it meant she could take it home for dinner! Well done, scientists!

Year 4 loved learning about glaciers during British Science Week! They explored climate change using ice cubes as model glaciers. Professor Bethan Davies from Newcastle University shared her research, and the children asked fantastic questions to deepen their understanding.
