@ethanmvfc Happens alot with Croatians for some reason. Italians and Greeks are very loyal to both people but will never go against Australia - must be Mediterranean thing. Loyalty actually means something.

BREAKING: TRAD CATHOLICS IN FORMAL SCHISM? Feb 2–SSPX Superior General may have just formally schismed the group by proceeding with consecrating a new “bishop”—which is the sole privilege of the Pope. St John Paul II excommunicated their founders for this.

The following is repugnant to me. And that’s the end of any profitable discussion between us. ‘Mawdsley has asserted that “Hitler did not set out to conquer Europe, while the Jews schemed then and now to rule the world.” He has opposed Jews holding power in Christian societies, claiming they are “corrosive to Christ’s order” and damage worldviews in an “antichrist way.” He has accused Jews of genocide against Germans, waging a race war against them.’ Etc.

Mark Lambert argues that recent public interventions by Cardinal Arthur Roche (prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship) and Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández (prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith) reveal a significant decline in intellectual rigor, doctrinal depth, and institutional competence within the Roman Curia. Key points include criticism of Roche’s essay defending Traditionis Custodes as lacking substance and coherence, and Fernández’s plenary meditation as displaying insufficient doctrinal gravity and humility. The piece contends that elevating these figures has undermined the Church’s central authority. catholicunscripted.com/p/roche-fernan…

@Li34041 @CatholicRob That's not your typical NO. But if your crowd of trads isn't obsessed with money that's great and maybe that's the church we should be trying to move near ;)

@rtf_media That video is unwatchable. He is supposed to be a professional apologist right? So isn't being able to effectively communicate as a public speaker a primary skill? Yet I've honestly never watched a more incoherent, rambling video in my life.

Disordered weirdos like Voris and VOR are like fish out of water without their mics and adoration. Really sad to see; the absolute best thing for their soul is obscurity, but they cling to relevance like a lifeboat. One which will carry them safely to Hell.

@Catholicizm1 Legitimately, I think this guy has a basket full of scraps of paper with different words on them, and every day he randomly pulls one out and decides that’s what he’ll accuse trads of being or doing.

Im really getting sick of this guy. He just make things up about trads so he can make himself feel better about going to a bad parish. Literally the only people I’ve ever heard talk about how capitalism isn’t good are trads. The Novus Ordo boomers are the epitome of wealthy capitalist ghouls who don’t care about the poor. Keep coping moron. Keep creating caricatures to make yourself feel better. I’m done with your garbage writing, and ridiculous insults. You’re in a bad situation because you’re a mediocre writer. Not because you’re choosing poverty to be holy. You’re a knock off Bug Hall who trashes other Catholics for absolutely no reason. Have fun with that.

I truly do not understand why it needs to be this way. I mean, Dorothy Day went to the Latin Mass, too... as did St Francis.. But today the TLM is weirdly and inexplicably associated with a deep fetishization of wealth + strong skepticism of Christ's criticisms of wealth. To even suggest that renunciation of wealth (or a distinterest in it) might merit some consideration in the Christian life will, in some of these circles, elicit a horrified or offended response. They seem to apply many asterisks to any portion of the Christian canon that would point toward even the mildest critiques of wealth-seeking behavior. This leads me to believe that many present-day TLM people have adopted some "extra" ideas that weren't necessarily prevalent amongst the laity in the preconciliar Church. Prior to Vatican II, I'm not sure that it was commonly thought that Catholics have some kind of a moral obligation to get rich. If anything, I'd imagine the majority of Catholics over time thought something much closer to the contrary -- which would be understandable given Christ's teachings on the subject.

@shagbark_hick Trads have always been called out for being anti-capitalists, such as being obsessed with distributism. You are literally just making up random word salads.

@RizomaSchool One of the legit issues with trad caths is they tend to be in these parish and online bubbles where everyone is super smug/comfortable with capitalism and bourgeois comfort.

This was one of the most disgusting videos I’ve ever watched. I’d love to know who these supposed spiritual fathers are that told him he can return as long as it’s behind a paywall where he can profit off the faith.
