@stomababe There are a lot of mental health issues that can be easily faked.

You can dismiss neurodivergent people all you want, it still won't magically get them in employment. A lot of companies do not want to hire people who need additional support or accommodations. Which is why unemployment will only continue to grow. It really isn't rocket science.

@stomababe What did neurodivergent people do before it was widely diagnosed? Answer: they got on with their life and learned to adapt

@JCUK1981 Because we now have better understanding, awareness, research, and less stigma. Neurodivergence has always existed, but it is now being diagnosed. Especially in women whose traits present differently to men. They only discovered women could have ADHD in the past 10 years…

the worst part is how many of these women spent their entire childhood being called "too sensitive" or "dramatic" or "she just needs to try harder" when the whole time their brain was literally wired differently. decades of masking and overcompensating until their body finally says "i can't keep pretending this is fine" and the real answer was there the whole time just buried under everyone else's expectations

And that's my life story in a nut shell.
