This is misleading. Yes, the DOJ announced charges — but those are allegations in an indictment, not proven facts. Saying SPLC “funneled money to extremist groups” like it’s confirmed is inaccurate. That still has to be proven in court, and SPLC has already denied the claims. Big difference between being accused and being guilty.

FBI Director Kash Patel: "They lied to their donors, vowing to dismantle violent extremist groups, and actually turned around and paid the leaders of these very extremist groups — even utilizing the funds to have these groups facilitate the commission of state and federal crimes." Acting AG Todd Blanche: "The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence. Using donor money to allegedly profit off Klansmen cannot go unchecked." Scheme allegedly ran 2014–2023.
