@guimaaka Nice study. The important point is “once all other causes of pain were clinically excluded”. Shows that surgery can then be justified. Will be different for the more common situation of the incidentally detected non-obstructing stone.

Straight forward study on a daily clinical situation : pain complaints in non obstruction small kidney stones: pain reduction in majority of patients. 69% 50% reduction

Otherwise fix symptomatic side. Agree that it is not always clear cut and there is variation in practice.
