Different Types of Crying sob weep whimper bawl sniffle wail 1) Sob = To cry loudly with sharp breaths or gasps, often from strong emotion. Example: She began to sob when she heard the bad news. 2) Weep = To cry quietly and gently, without much noise. Example: He sat alone and wept during the sad movie. 3) Whimper = To cry softly and weakly, often while complaining or in fear. Example: The puppy whimpered when it was left outside. 4) Bawl = To cry very loudly and uncontrollably. Example: The baby bawled when the toy was taken away. 5) Sniffle = To cry lightly with repeated nose-sniffing sounds. Example: She sniffled and wiped her nose after the argument. 6) Wail = To cry loudly and continuously because of pain, grief, or despair. Example: Mourners wailed at the funeral.

When we speak, the flow of sound has no interruptions except for when we take in air to breathe or to organise our thoughts. So, we don’t make pauses between words the way they are written in a text. This makes listening harder than reading. #englishlistening
