Leading edge of the storms reaching the west end now.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania until 9 PM EDT

Today's storms will hit the west end around 3pm and slowly move east. Rain will be long lasting and most areas could see a half inch with local amts to 1.5" Yet another round hits the west end before dawn.

Getting more interesting.

Low level fog bank rolling in. Lots of this when warm and humid air interacts with the cold water.

A large area of showers and T-storms will cross the area this AM with heavy downpours, and possibly gusty winds and small hail. The main severe weather risk (primary risk isolated damaging winds) will be with round 2 late this afternoon and evening, mainly south of the Thruway

A special weather statement has been issued for Erie PA, Conneaut OH and Edinboro PA until 5:15 AM EDT

Woke up to see why my phone was blowing up. This had triggered a tornado warning at Windsor. Fortunately the tornado does not seem to have occurred. Seems to be getting more active as it heads into the eastern half of the lake. A LOT of rain in this.

A special weather statement has been issued for Sandusky OH, Fremont OH and Port Clinton OH until 4:00 AM EDT

@NWSCLE The red boxes in this shot just west of Lake Michigan are tornado warnings.

It's starting. Much of the Great Lakes area have seen tornados today. Thunderstorms are starting to show up just to the SW of the lake. This particular set up is moving towards Cleveland. Make sure you follow @NWSCLE and put on notifications if you are in that area.

A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of northwest Ohio beginning this evening. Heavy rainfall associated with convection may result in localized flooding and rises in area streams & rivers. #ohwx

Severe Thunderstorm Warning including Norwalk OH, Willard OH and New London OH until 2:15 PM EDT

The threat for thunderstorms for the rest of today encompasses the entire lake with the risk increasing the further west you are. A decent chance for severe weather later with tornado risk. Greatest threat is tonight through tomorrow morning from Toledo OH to Windsor ON.
