I've stopped thinking much about the model and started completely obsessing about the harness. My real fear is I'm gonna spend a few more thousand dollars in tokens only to watch the hyperscalers roll out a series of very capable and very stable products. Maybe I'll always be a homebrew guy though

I've moved from excitement about the models to obsession over the harness. I'm spending every spare cycle thinking about how I can: Decompose the work. Parallelize the execution. Verify the results. Iterate to completion. The rest is parlor tricks.🦞🦞

Yesterday Mark Cuban reposted my work, DM'd me, and told me to keep telling my story. So here it is. I'm a Master Electrician. IBEW Local 369. 15 years pulling wire in Kentucky. Zero coding background. I didn't go to Stanford. I went to trade school. Every week I'd show up to a home where someone just bought a Tesla or a Rivian. And every time, someone had already told them they needed a $3,000-$5,000 panel upgrade to install a charger. 70% of the time? They didn't need it. The math is in the NEC — Section 220.82. Load calculations. But nobody was doing them for homeowners. Electricians upsell. Dealers don't know. And the homeowner just pays. I got angry enough to build something about it. I found @claudeai. No coding experience. I just started talking to it like I'd explain a job to an apprentice. "Here's how load calcs work. Here's the NEC code. Now help me build a tool that does this." 6 months later — @ChargeRight is live. Real software. Stripe payments. PDF reports. NEC 220.82 calculations automated. $12.99 instead of a $500 truck roll. I'm still pulling wire. I still take service calls. I wake up at 5:05 AM for work. But something shifted. Yesterday @vivilinsv published my story as Claude Builder Spotlight #1. Mark Cuban saw it. The Claude community showed up. And for the first time, I felt like this thing I built in my kitchen might actually matter. I'm not a tech founder. I'm a dad who wants to coach little league and be home for dinner. I just happened to build something that helps people. If you're in the trades and thinking about using AI — do it. The barrier isn't technical skill. It's believing you're allowed to try. EVchargeright.com

No discussion of tech media can get past this basic traffic fact: in the AI world, Google and social no longer refer traffic, which means that the vast majority of readers just never find you in the first place. Analysis: growtika.com/blog/tech-medi…

Posted twice on LinkedIn today, got some decent engagement, and realized that there is close to zero overlap with Twitter. That’s a problem. This place is heavy on VCs, startup ecosystem, freelance and indie marketers, but the advertising folks are mostly gone. Gotta diversify.

Just realized why I’m so addicted to Claude Code. It’s literally a video game for adults. You get stuck on a level, try everything you can to beat it, and eventually break through. And every level you stack skills and get stronger.

Of course that's your contention. You're a first-time SaaS bear. You just got finished listening to some podcast, Dario on Dwarkesh, probably. Now you think it’s the end of white collar work and seat-based pricing is screwed. You're gonna be convinced of that til tomorrow when you get to “Something Big is Happening”. Then you’ll install ClawdBot on a Mac Mini, vibe code a dashboard on top of a postgres database and say we’re all just a couple ralph loops away from building a Salesforce competitor. That’s gonna last until next week when you discover context graphs, and then you're gonna be talking about how the systems of record will be disintermediated by an agentic layer and reposting OAI marketing graphics. “Well, as a matter of fact, I won't, because ultimately the application layer is just ….” The application layer is just business logic on top a CRUD database. You got that from Satya’s appearance on the BG2 pod, December 2024, right? Yeah, I saw that too. Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Or...is that your thing? You get into the replies of anyone posting a SaaS ticker. You watch some podcast and then pawn it off as your own idea just to impress some VCs and embarrass some anon who’s long SaaS? See the sad thing about a guy like you is in a couple years you're gonna start doing some thinking on your own and you're gonna come up with the fact that there are two certainties in life. One: don't do that. And two: you dropped thirty grand on Mac Minis and LLM API calls to come to the same conclusion you could’ve got for free by following a handful of VC accounts.

@michaelmiraflor @flightradar24 It's not the speed over ground, it's the speed through the medium. So no. But it would be really cool to see that on the seat back screen.

@flightradar24 might be a dumb Q: do airliners experience a sonic boom when they get to Mach speed via jet stream? do passengers notice/feel it?

Ben Thompson @stratechery gets into this a lot. Power law distributions are the natural order of things online. So there's simply not as many outlets needed. I'm probably getting that wrong, but he also goes into exactly how he makes a business as an individual stratechery.com/2023/the-unifi…

If you were sitting on some really good writing. Where would you want to place it these days to have it read. It seems almost impossible to get cut through these days. Used to write for many pubs ( Techcrunch / wired / Forbes / WEF etc and now they all seem to be dying.

@ThisWeeknAI I installed Clawdbot the day after it came out. Since then I've spent thousands on tokens...mostly debugging OpenClaw. Every day it's just fail after fail. Even using claude code to debug just temp fixes. Am I alone, @Jason ?

What this says, in bureaucrat-speak, is that the people who dodge fares are the people who cause problems.

These things genuinely fill me with rage. It’s the only thing I’ve considered vandalizing I’m amazed so few have issues with them. Amazed they just appeared without warning everywhere
