A competitive Pokemon GO player got disqualified after winning the Orlando Regional Championship due to his celebration

It's only natural for players dedicated to the game to pop off a little after a major win, especially their first one. Being penalized for such a harmless celebration makes no sense this is not how we grow the game

Dear @pokemon, At the Orlando Pokémon Regional Championships 2026. Firestar73 was celebrating his victory respectfully and without any misconduct, showing clear sportsmanship toward his opponent. However, we have learned that his win was subsequently nullified and awarded to his opponent, effectively stripping him of his rightful champion title. This decision appears deeply unjust. Based on the available information, there is no indication of any behavior that would warrant such a ruling. I respectfully request that this case be reviewed, that an apology be issued to Firestar73, and that his hard-earned and well-deserved title be reinstated. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

@YMegaSnorlax We have to make as much noise as we can as a community to change the outcome of their ruling. I don’t care anymore I won’t accept any other way. This is not acceptable EVER.

@Stran6e Yeah that's why I said we have better judge teams. I don't think something like that would ever happen in EU. Orlando is beyond crazy and it's a disgrace to the entire championship series that this happened

@YMegaSnorlax I genuinely wanted to point out (una más!) “1 more win” but it may have seem offensive. Luckily Mr Rob acted like a real human being and understood the context so nothing else happened apart from a small talk. But man what did we just witness in Orlando. No ceremony either. Crazy

@Stran6e Yeah i'm mad for 3 hours now and still can't get wtf happened, thank god we have better judge teams in EU which showed a lot of times (even though we both got a warning for showing a finger to the crowd after our wins kekw)

I guess celebrating your first ever regional win (in a mild and respectful fashion) is illegal now I truly hope @firestar73_ will be awarded the Orlando regional title he earned with his spectacular play. The ruling against him may be Pokémon Go's lowest moment yet. Appalling.

@TheZzweilous Another reason to stand out and fight this injustice. We as a community cannot accept this.

I have many friends trying to qualify for Worlds in the NA circuit. For some of them, it will be a close call. With Firestar's demission, his cascading invite will be lost (as NTC is qualified already). That’s a third party's Worlds dream shattered for no good reason, too.

@Bad4ngles My God that is so true… and it turned out in just a warning (should be the exact same for Firestar). This is truly a shame… we as a community need to stand out against this decision so they go back and crown the true champion.
