After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to wind down Basejump as a venture-backed company. We saw strong early growth, but monetization and fundraising in the current gaming market didn’t come together fast enough to continue responsibly. Broadside will remain live in a slimmed-down, free-to-play form, with OG assets permanently stored on Arweave. Basejump accounts will stay live until March 1 so users can download VRMs created on the platform. Grateful to everyone who supported the project, and proud of what we built. Broadside lives on ☠️⬆️

first off no, those are not “routers,” those are 32-channel GSM gateways flashed with a custom firmware that lets me provision SIM cards from any carrier, anywhere, on-demand. they’re arranged in a floor-level phased array to minimize RF leakage and keep the entire cell tower spoof invisible to drive by stingrays. every IMEI is randomized hourly by a cron job that cross-references leaked carrier databases so to the network it looks like 300 normal people are just hanging out in my apartment streaming tiktok from there, all outbound traffic is hairpinned into a mikrotik core switch running a hand-compiled routerOS image with all telemetry ripped out. the uplink is triple-bonded across two fiber lines and a directional mmWave dish pointed at an abandoned office building across town that still has active enterprise ethernet running. each hop is obfuscated. BGP communities are rewritten to look like the packets are coming from a random coffee shop somewhere in the city if you even think about triangulating me, the system notices the RSSI spike and automatically starts flooding the local spectrum with garbage traffic, replayed paging requests, and fake neighbor cell beacons. the whole RF environment becomes a soup of nonsense, and good luck getting a clean fix on my location before the next random MAC rotation kicks in everything is running headless. there’s no monitor, no console, just a single raspberry pi taped to the back of the heater with watchdog timers that reflash the whole cluster if anything looks compromised. i manage it over an out-of-band LTE link that tunnels into a tailscale mesh node hidden under a fake thermostat in a laundromat across the street
