@chrisadonnelly There’s still an ‘observe from a distance’ culture among some in SMT as there’s a fear of damage being done to post-policing career prospects if a Gold commander makes a proactive decision coupled with a fear of possible, resultant, disorder.

The PSNI Chief Constable was on Nolan this morning promising a more proactive and firmer approach to such actions. An explanation is required as to why that wasn’t apparent tonight.

@darrenleckey We did encounter a bit of ‘dark tourism’ around South Armagh at times. They paid a lot of dollars for little or no return.
