@tedlieu That's because US military service isn't limited to US citizens. Therefore, a non-citizen in the US military would still have a military ID. I would expect a US Congressman and 25 year veteran to know that.

I served on active duty for 4 years and 21 years in the reserves. My military ID let me go to sensitive locations, like a military base.
Under the SAVE Act’s insane requirements, a military ID does not allow an American to vote.
