Every school deserves to be free from the madness of Motordom. Give kids space to play, clean air to breathe, and the freedom to move without fear of cars.

School is back in session next week. Be prepared for increased traffic in school areas. Drive safe and be mindful of children by the roadways.

Kids are heading back to school; remember to be cautious in school zones. Slow down and watch for students playing near bus stops and crossing the street.

Seeing so many great photo posts on social media from friends currently in Paris or doing European train travel and talking about Paris School Streets! Just reminding you that @Streetfilms essentially has the only film on them in the world. WATCH HERE: youtu.be/ezPzocuqKPc

Fresno’s traffic engineer, Robert Dier, was true to his training, which is much the same today. In 1951 Dier did not treat children walking to school as a form of transportation demand requiring accommodation but rather as a source of interference with transportation.

Every school in your city deserves an experiment with a car-free school street. #Paris shows how to make this happen! 🚧 (1) City adds temporary barriers 🚗 (2) If they lead to problems, they are removed 🤸 (3) If they work, permanent design is implemented (📹 by @Streetfilms)

An important point made by former active travel minister Trudy Harrison today: In schools, when you ask how many kids cycle to school: no hands go up. When you ask how many kids would like to cycle to school: all the hands go up. 🙋♀️🙋🏻♂️ We owe it to kids to enable them.
