@unshuckled @DenisDukeUG Eiii. A Toyota Harrier? Repair issues????
English

@DenisDukeUG Driving it for a week is not sufficient experience.
Talk to a person who has owned it.
Of course a new one is better. But a used one off street, bro, you'll cry!
English

Anyone selling a Harrier Kawundo? Not from the bond. Just outside the bond. I’m tired of being disrespected because of my small car.
Post it under this tweet plus price, contact and location.

@NansinguzaJ I’m guessing by saying “485,001” you’re referring to the suggested amendment?

@nshera_fc bros;

English

@nikita_helene 1. Does it??? 😃
But also 2. Back to my ambiguity, there’s no reason why the law should ever say 30% + 10%, yet it could have just said 40%.
And 3. Long shot, but the amendment is meant to clarify this (or at least it should).
English

@StrictlyAlvin but this screenshot clearly shows 30% + 10%

i'm confused... hasn't paye always been 40% for the top tax payers?
Mujuni Raymond@qataharraymond
40% PAYE is not tenable. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

what this ura 40% vs 10% discussion has revealed to me is that we don't have enough private sector high salary earners on this app
they could easily come tell us how they are taxed
our high earning folks like @TheMutaD don't pay income taxes (they will pay 49% in my regime)
English

@nikita_helene Got this from some law report. Clearly I’m not the only one who misinterpreted it.
gtuganda.co.ug/globalassets/_…

English

@nikita_helene There’s no reason why you should say “and an additional 10% charged on the amount…” when they could have just bracketed :-
410,001 - 10,000,000 — 30%
>10,000,000 — 40%
The ambiguity is there.
English

@nikita_helene I got someone. (They bill them 4,902,000 on their 15,000,000)
You’re right.
It’s 40% for that bracket. 🤣
English

The provision is too ambiguous. And just for clarity I’m not an accounting professional; and I’m more than willing to learn.
Just for learning purposes, I know you know someone who earns more than 10m, help me ask them how much they deduct off them as PAYE, and then I’ll compute back and see whether it represents 40% or just 10% on what exceeds 10,000,000.
English

@Law1342458 @nikita_helene People approach you to help them calculate PAYE?
English

@nikita_helene @StrictlyAlvin As a CPA this is why I always exploit people coz they don’t know how to calculate tax😹😹
English

@nikita_helene No.
Say you earn 15,000,000
0-235,000 — 0%
235,001 - 335,000 — 10%
335,000 - 410,000 — 20%
30% will be levied on 410,001 — 10,000,000
10% will be levied against the other extra 5,000,000
At no point is it ever 40%.
English

@StrictlyAlvin but it's effectively 40% for that bracket
English

@nikita_helene @KaramaMitch The only difference is that non-residents don’t have that threshold. 0-235,000 — if I remember my taxation very well.
Everything else is the same.
English

@KaramaMitch tax brackets are the same.
small minor changes if the person isn't a resident
