30 years ago today @AVFCOfficial won the @Carabao_Cup 3-0 at @wembstadium….seems like yesterday… thank you to all my wonderful teammates,the manager and the staff,the club & administrators and especially the fans for a memorable day..miss you all(especially you Jim Walker)…xmb @premierleague

@HACKETTREF As soon as the ball hit the back of the net you immediately looked at the linesman and if was running towards the half way line you celebrated. It took a fraction of a second. Some dodgy decisions you won, some you lost, all part of the game. I am losing interest rapidly.

@alexanderjourno @HACKETTREF I have been attending games for 53 years and played also..when offside rules were simple..agreed was some dodgy calls. But at least we celebrate goals back then..instead of over complicated rules being looked at by second rate officials and still getting it so very wrong

Since when did @AVFCOfficial adopt dynamic pricing ? Leeds United classed as Grade A match 'because tickets are selling well’. How do you explain that then ?

@NicolaPartridg2 Kick off times, change of dates, relentless analysis, VAR (which is ruining everyones enjoyment) all down to TV and because it sells subscriptions and the clubs are now totally reliant on the money it’s not going to change.

@StrideSteve I’m just amazed how so few people grasp it, Steve. It may sound cynical but it’s a cold, hard fact. They’re out to protect their cash cow (and the clubs they’ve aligned to serve that purpose) and they have fans over a barrel. They control football, no one else.

The game’s run by broadcasters; the PL being the servant to the master. These people pretend they’re the servants of fans: they’re the opposite. They’ve changed the game beyond recognition in terms of how it is officiated and it feeds their needs and protects their agenda.

Ok in principle but fans, esp the FIFA /stats crew, need to accept what that really means. The micro analysis of football is in the PL because of the money. Sky etc put the £ in and love VAR no matter what they say: engagement farming. You can’t undo the knitting that easily.

It’s no wonder I am losing interest in football with this joke of a World Cup draw preceded over by a FIFA President whose pay package in 2023 was $4.67 million and who resides for much of the year in Qatar. Big commute to his office in Zurich.

@HACKETTREF It’s becoming Forensic Football. Players make mistakes every match, referees make mistakes, all part of the game. The only reason VAR should be involved is when everyone in the stadium can see an obvious unmistakable wrong decision has been made,

Just a very poor confused performance by VAR and the Referee who was dragged down to the incompetent level of VAR.
We need to bring in some overseas referees and promote some up the ladder
