Excited to share our latest work on two polymorphs of OMe-BDPI solvates that display photoinduced radical formation, while only one of them shows photochromism. Our results demonstrate that radical generation and photochromism—often assumed to occur together—can actually arise independently depending on subtle differences in crystal packing and π–π interactions. Congratulations to my coauthors. Photochromism and Photoinduced Radical Activity─Symbiotic or Concurrent?
