I can list you 5 main factors. Doubt you'll read all this, but I'll list it anyway: 1. Cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline (Jan 2021) - Killed ~830,000 barrels/day of new pipeline capacity from Canadian oil sands. - Immediately raised transport costs for crude & signaled to markets that fossil fuel infrastructure was under attack. - No new equivalent capacity replaced it quickly. 2. Moratorium on new oil & gas leasing on federal lands & waters (Jan 2021; followed by leasing plan delays) - Federal lands account for about 25% of American oil production. The pause created permitting uncertainty, resulting in slowed new drilling & reduced future supply expectations. - Caused oil/gas companies to delay (or outright cancel) projects that they fear would be economically liable to the plan. 3. EPA regulations (e.g., methane emissions rules, stricter permitting, & "social cost of carbon") - Raised compliance costs for producers, refiners, & pipelines. - Combined with anti-fossil-fuel rhetoric ("no more drilling," "transition away from oil"), they discouraged long-term capital investment in American production. - Private-sector analysts fro the EIA & IEA noted the slowdown in domestic supply response despite demand starting to make a minor comeback after the Covid lockdowns were being rolled back. 4. American Rescue Plan Act ($1.9 trillion stimulus, March 2021) - Passed when the economy was already rebounding & supply chains were strained. - Along with the recent Covid relief, it fueled broad inflation (including the energy sector) as too much money chased too few goods/services. - Economists across the spectrum (including some Democrats) later called it overkill & a key driver of 2022's 9%+ CPI peak. 5. Green energy push + LNG export pause (2024) - IRA & regulatory tilt toward EVs/renewables reduced fossil-fuel capex. - Late-term pause on new LNG export approvals further tightened global supply expectations & negatively impacted not just the oil/gas sector, but for the automotive industry as well as they're being forced to not diversify the vehicle market. So yeah, I'm pretty confident it wasn't Trump that cause the 2021-2024 inflation numbers. You can call it MAGAt talking points all you want. Idc. That's what the majority of reports state. Even a few Obama officials admit that it wasn't Trump that cause the early 2020s inflation.

A landslide is when you have an overwhelming majority of the popular vote. Trump had a plurality, which means the majority of voters didn't want him.
