One of my favourite views of our farm, made sweeter knowing that my family is now finally paid off,so we own it

@russpauls Yes the back board is for when filling into our bulk sheds it keeps the pile away from the wheels so you can keep moving it fword

@russpauls Yes we are lucky we can access the entire farm via internal roads so don’t need to be on public roads and have storage spread around the farm. Distances can be up to 20km one way though

Everything is better on big wheels isn’t it…….? Might stop the augers getting bogged in a wet harvest

@SteveWilkins10 Hi Steve, row spacing is 375mm, seems to be common in this part of Australia. Would not want any wider, barley will compensate and close the row, but wheat not so much. We also don’t have the ryegrass pressure like southern and western states do either

@russpauls Yes Russ, the whole auger is custom made for us 16” x 120’ for direct unload from chaser bins as we don’t use trucks from field to silo

@Stu_macNZ Is the oversized hopper something from factory or you modified yourself? Never seen that. So you can dump grain cart into it I assume?

@BenBoughton1 We offset and Kelly chained every 48m headland last year to remove 2022 harvest damage and although done as soon as it was dry enough, nothing grew on the planted headlands as it was too dry, much different season though

@Stu_macNZ Cheers. I’m having a go at similar try to level out harvest traffic scars in front of planter. Trying to go as shallow as possible. Lots of moisture.

Levelling out a bit more flood damage in front of the planters, making for a smooth harvest

@BenBoughton1 Moisture at this stage of the season isn’t a limiting factor and left it until planters in the paddock so didn’t dry out too much. Try to only do the roughest washouts where the residue has been left in big clumps <5% of the planted area

@BenDooley8 It will be better than running the planter thru and blocking yes 🤣 Not too much of a sacrifice running the chain across 200ha of 2,700ha of barley

30+ years of trying just about every seeder filling system there is, & I can't rate using a chaser bin highly enough. 25,000L in 15 minutes including checks, enough for 100Ha, no manhandling augers & we don't leave the cab except to open & close the lids & a quick blowdown #kiss

@ipaddockapps @Reece_Mason1 We have transferred the tractors external pto button on the fender up to the auger spout so can be all activated and controlled on the seed cart by one person

@Reece_Mason1 That was more an issue when we used to operate it up the top with the remote levers and no "oh shit" button for the pto!

@Farmer_Mooo Hi Harry, no a Cambridge roller would be a foreign concept in Australia. In theory the closing discs and spider wheels (press wheels) are supposed to do the final consolidation. A lot of flat rolling of lentils post sowing to allow a close shave at harvest though
