@ALANMYERSMEDIA VAR needs to be stripped back to offside where actual evidence is clear. Decision tonight is not clear and obvious mistake.

I liked football when a ref could make a mistake every now and again, we’d talk about it that night and after MOTD we’d move on. We’d all accept that mistakes happen, what we have now is just total nonsense and has ruined the game for me

@ALANMYERSMEDIA Sometimes I'd get home after a 1 goal loss and my Dad would say something like "on the radio they said we should've had a pen ya know". And I'd be gutted, but accept that it's gone. Knew VAR would cause big issues. Being polite, it's clear the people on it have unconcious bias.

@Tony_Scott11 Send the referee to the screen and have a look at it. He is the Ref after all. But no, the total authority in the VAR officials voice "its a 'total' accident") convinces the ref to dismiss the penalty claim. VAR deffo reffed that incident.

@EvertonBlueArmy Yes, the heart was saying Europe (unlikely now), but the head says we have improved. Summer additions crucial to the next steps.

Losing the lead twice in the manner we did is so dissapointing. Reality says this is our first season in a while where relegation has never been a possibility which is great, but the heart says Europe was very close and within touching distance. Genuinely gutted weve let it slip.

@Richlloyd1984 Makes a big difference to our defence. Had a bad season with injuries though. Got to get him right.

Henry you are spot on with your observation. Had Oliver issued a straight red then VAR would not have got involved. Under the current interpretation by the PGMOL they put Kane’s challenge in the reckless yellow card bracket. These will be outlawed in the World Cup and given a red

We have thrown away 6 points in the last 3 games in added time. Those 6 points will cost us a place in Europe next season. We need to have a stronger mentality to see games out.

@C_Rolfe81 Compared to recent seasons under different managers I think he's done well with a limited squad, especially with the amount of away wins. Will be interesting to see if he's entrusted with a decent amount of transfer funds this summer.

@StuartAtherton3 Sounds like supporters are quick to forget what Moyes did last season and this season with still a limited squad. Defeats are bad defeats against bad teams but he’s still right for us at the moment.

Europe was a nice thought but in reality the squad isn’t good enough. Would have took it but it’s nice to just not be involved at the bottom. Home form not good enough and drop too many poor points. We need a good summer window, early transfers in and hit the ground running

@StuartAtherton3 We knew the squad needed a huge overhaul last season and we done enough to have a comfortable season. Now it’s time to push on next season.

So I’ve had time to simmer… Yep we lost, but speaking to kopites before and after the usual cockiness wasn’t there, it was more relief. Make no mistake what you saw today was one club on the way up, and the other facing the last days of Rome. This summer we’ll be getting rid of the relegation fight plodders and buying more KDH calibre players, whilst they’ll be sacking their manager, making more mistakes in the window and worrying. Don’t worry blues, our time will come. 💙
