@danskiza Na he’s not up to it mate. Got some physical attributes but he’s so weak and easy to play man to man with. I’d get shut and get Liam Delap who was the first choice anyway. Way more suited to us. He’s a tit but the fans will love him. Strong mentally and physically

@Stuart_Paley Don't get me wrong Stuart, Beto is no haaland but at least he gives a shit! Barry has burnt his bridges with lots of fans after that arsenal stunt he pulled and now he can't even close down defenders when he's just come on. Get him loaned out in the summer see if he improves!

#MCIARS – 83' The referee’s call of no red card was checked and confirmed by VAR – with the action from Gabriel deemed not to be excessively aggressive or violent.

The gates to BMD is sadly an accident waiting to happen. Getting out of there today was a nightmare and it was daylight Closing off the entrance to the Nelson Dock entrance just makes it 10x worse. A steward had a pint thrown at him for his troubles which was totally uncalled for. Please sort it Everton before someone gets hurt!

@DaleJohnsonBBC VAR never intervene on Anthony Taylor and Michael Oliver. Not as much as other at least. Love to see the stats on it if I’m wrong

Much will depend on what Anthony Taylor told the VAR he saw. If the referee described it as we saw and chose a yellow, there's not much the VAR can do. But that's a red for me. Another case where the outcome is probably different had the opponent "played up" to it. #MCIARS

How on earth did Virgil van Dijk not get booked for that challenge on Gueye? An angry Jordan Pickford booked for dissent.

@DerektheKopRed I agree to an extent. More of reflection on modern society than our city though. Social media stirs up so much animosity

A sad reflection of how the Derby’s changed & not for the better. The old Kop always had a section of blue noses stood singing for their team & I stood in the Gwldys Street with my blue nose mates watching with my red scarf on. Wembley trips together. A sad demise for the city.

I know we all love The Masters but let’s be honest the coverage is and always has been fucking dreadful. Like one big long advert for Augusta and the foliage and nothing to do with showing the golf. You see people putt out and a few tee shots then the leaderboard. That’s it

This works on so many levels and could be the most fitting design for a player with an impeccable record - incredible work ethic and passion, commitment, and understanding of what it means to play for Everton Football Club. Maybe it serves as a reminder of the expectations - and the bare minimum required of players coming through, seen from the perspective of one of our greatest players and the fans themselves. Can’t think of a player more fitting to set that tone in this way than Southall. The fact that the concept came from a fan makes it even more unique. 🧤 ©️@Everton_TheGear

Lots of people won't agree with the story behind this Neville Southall image & that's fair enough. I just like the idea of something other than a generic statue put in a bit of space. Here he is sitting at the stadium plaza steps, looking out over the River Mersey towards Wales.

Said all season Mykolenko gets hung out to dry when Grealish is playing as he leaves him 2 v 1 most games. Jacks a great lad and I’m sure he’s good to have round the dressing room for the club but for 30/50m on mega money I’d want more. There’s a lot out there for less money

@PaulSpacey I feels like you are putting all players and kids in the same ability and profile though. Some kids are just better and that can’t be coached or taught. It’s to do with their mental and physical traits too. I’m don’t wanna argue but you’re being too sweeping.

If that hunger means more time training and more focused training than the kid who started earlier, of course the gap will close. By definition they can’t have a higher ceiling of development though because of the crucial period they missed. Either they are doing way more volume and better quality training, or the kid who started earlier does less volume/quality as time goes on. Or both.

@PaulSpacey I appreciate what your saying and completely agree about technical foundation. Some kids don’t start until later though and I’ve seen many kids the same who have caught an surpassed kids who started at 4/5 years old as they have had a hunger and higher ceiling of development

@Stuart_Paley You missed the point Stuart. Of course if the kid who started early stops playing the gap will close. That’s obvious. This is about the gap between kids who continue playing. It never closes because that missed foundation cannot be replicated later.
