We were started by students at Alabama to counter all the ticketing scams going on at the school. On Snapchat, Group Me, etc Students are already trading their tickets, so we provide those that are a safe platform with no selling fees, and full refunds if they don’t get their ticket For schools such as Georgia and Auburn, that don’t allow trading, we don’t exist. For schools that tickets are free, we don’t exist, because there’s no online scams to prevent Many schools have good systems in place to protect their students already, but some don’t. For those students, if they’re going to trade tickets, we’re here to protect them

@cafedepoesie Non-students can not buy student tickets on our app! The ticketing software used by the schools does not allow this.

Can someone explain to me why this is a bad idea? So much negativity that I don't understand. Is it because non-students can but student section tickets?

@bordeauxyoutube @StudentSeatsApp Student gets free tickets, then this guy gives them a platform to turn those tickets for pure profit. It’s literally ticket scalping by definition. If they buy tickets, then want to resell, that’s one thing, but getting to take advantage of “I got a free ticket” is absurd….

@MilesHighBuffs @Desmond_burner We will always work with our community on improving the platform, but for reference, @Desmond_burner only 76 of the 72,000 registered students in our entire 6 years of existence have ever sold more than 20 tickets and the average user only sells 2-3 tickets.

@Desmond_burner @StudentSeatsApp I agree, I also don’t know who was running it before. Hopefully the new leadership can switch some stuff up to prevent that.

The @StudentSeatsApp controversy is very strange to me. Isn’t this what most colleges already do, but on a way-less governed scale? I had the same idea in college just never executed it. Students don’t want their tickets? Sell them to other verified students. Makes sense right? Hard part is verification. Once you lose credibility you’re finished. Ski pass companies have ways to verify students for discounts. This is the same idea. Students should be able to sell tickets to other student on a safe platform, not FB or Snapchat. It’s better that way. The idea that @bordeauxyoutube is some grifter is ridiculous. Guy spends hours of his life playing a video game for people’s pleasure. I hardly doubt he’s just going to ruin that reputation for a quick cash-and-grab. Just my thoughts. I like the idea. The fees/money making model isn’t my favorite, but that can be ironed out.
