In our “Honoring Individuality” unit, students create collagraph portraits, inspired by the artwork of American Artists with Disabilities. Written for the @NYCSchools program “Hidden Voices”, this unit features artists from #CreativeGrowth, @LANDgallery, and @ArtCentersECF.

Today is World Kindness Day! ❤️ It’s the perfect reminder to share a little kindness, whether it’s with someone you know or a complete stranger. This love filled artwork was painted in 1988 by then 4th grader Melissa T. from PS 21 in Brooklyn.

Studio Artist Instructors are among the most thoughtful educators you’ll meet. Their care shines through during hands-on demonstrations and guidance. Here Artist Instructor Lia Zuvilivia works with PreK students guiding them as they learn to use scissors during a collage lesson.

Behold the iconic Chrysler Building, reimagined through the eyes of 2nd grader Iftikhar A. from P.S. 171 in Manhattan. Guided by Studio Artist Instructor Gail Molnar, Iftikhar explored the art of collage to capture the spirit and architecture of this New York City landmark.

Here’s an art lesson perfect for October as we gear up for Halloween! 🎃 Students will create collage masks with paper, glue, and lots of imagination. This activity builds fine motor skills while encouraging creative expression, for festive fall fun! loom.ly/skjS_x8.
