RIP. You can listen to Renault Robinson talk about the AAPL and his famous civil rights lawsuit against the Chicago Police Department with Studs Terkel and journalist Robert McClory in 1979 here: studsterkel.wfmt.com/programs/renau…

We are greatly saddened to learn of the passing of #RenaultRobinson, cofounder of the Afro-American Patrolmen’s League. The AAPL worked to represent the interests of Black officers & stop police brutality targeting minority communities, among other goals. ow.ly/24ym50PbYim

We are deeply saddened to hear of Lois Baum's passing. She was integral to WFMT and the Studs Terkel Radio Archive. A force of nature who was always curious. May her memory be a blessing.

This past weekend, @WFMTclassical lost a giant. Longtime WFMT producer, programmer, co-host, and archivist Lois Baum passed away at the age of 87. She began with WFMT in 1964 and stayed for the next 36 years until she left in 2000. wfmt.com/2023/06/20/loi…

I consider Studs Terkel, born today, to be one of the greatest of all Chicagoans - 300 years from now when most of us are forever forgotten, I hope if there's one of us that's remembered, it's Studs. Never read him? Pick up literally any of his books - chipublib.bibliocommons.com/v2/search?quer…
