Last wave of the JL Bayanihan Movement! ✨ Today, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude as we close another meaningful wave of this beautiful journey. Through the kindness, generosity, and collective effort of everyone who believed in this project, we were able to distribute 100 packs of 5kg rice and groceries to our hardworking PUV and delivery drivers. More than 70 drivers also received gas assistance to help them continue their daily livelihood. What makes this project truly special is not only the numbers we reached, but the love and compassion shared by everyone who became part of it. Every small act of kindness became a light for someone silently struggling to get through each day. To our PUV and delivery drivers, thank you for your endless hard work and sacrifices. Many of you continue to work long hours under the heat, through exhaustion, and despite life’s challenges just to provide for your families and serve others every single day. We hope that through this simple project, you felt appreciated, remembered, and cared for. To everyone who supported the JL Bayanihan Movement, thank you from the deepest parts of our hearts. We may never fully express how grateful we are for the unity and love this project created. Watching all of us come together selflessly for one meaningful purpose reminded us of how powerful JL’s impact truly is. Through his kindness, inspiration, and the love he continues to share, he was able to bring together a community filled with compassion, unity, and genuine care for others. We would also like to give our sincerest thanks to all our hardworking volunteers who dedicated their time, energy, and effort to make this project successful. Behind every moment of this movement were people working tirelessly with genuine hearts to help others. Your dedication, patience, and willingness to serve made all of this possible. The problem with this argument is that it sounds reasonable on the surface, but the more you think about it, the more it falls apart. “The duo fanbase should have given spots to the other 7 members to complete OT9.” Why is the responsibility suddenly being placed on the people who actually organized and paid for the project in the first place? That’s the question nobody answering this narrative wants to confront. A fanbase is not automatically obligated to divide up the project they conceptualized, funded, negotiated, and executed just because other fandoms failed to organize something at the same speed or scale. That’s not how fan projects work in K-pop, and honestly, it’s unrealistic to expect one fandom to carry the coordination burden for everyone else. And let’s address the obvious exaggeration here: people are acting like MOA Arena only had 19 lamp posts available in the entire city. Please be serious. Manila is full of advertising spaces. Lamp posts, LED ads, café events, banners, standees, fan support zones — opportunities did not suddenly disappear because one fanbase secured 19 spots. If other solo fandoms wanted projects for their bias, they still had every opportunity to organize one themselves. That’s why this whole argument feels less like concern for OT9 and more like frustration that another fandom moved first and moved effectively. Because if the real concern was “we want all 9 members represented,” the logical reaction would have been: “Okay, let’s organize the remaining projects too.” Instead, some people chose to spend more energy criticizing the existing project than creating new ones themselves. And honestly, expecting the STEJAY fanbase to become the coordinator for every other member’s fandom is incredibly entitled. People are casually volunteering other fans’ money, time, effort, and logistics as if organizing these things is easy. Do people even realize what goes into large-scale fan projects? Negotiations. Design approvals. Printing. Location permits. Budgeting. Deadlines. Coordination. Transportation. Promotion. That’s real work. So after one fandom handles all of that, the response becomes: “You should’ve also adjusted your project around everyone else’s fandoms.” Can you see why some people find that unfair? Also, the “complete the OT9” narrative is emotionally appealing but practically inconsistent. If OT9 representation was truly the priority from the beginning, then where were the coordinated efforts BEFORE the duo project got announced? Why only bring up collaboration after another fandom already secured visibility and momentum? Because the uncomfortable truth is this: some fans only started thinking about “fairness” once they saw another fanbase successfully execute something big. And no, a duo-focused project does not erase the other members from AHOF. The concert itself is still for the whole group. The hype generated still benefits AHOF overall. Casual people seeing those lamp posts are still seeing the group name, the tour dates, and the growing anticipation for the Manila stop. People need to stop treating every fandom project like it must pass through a committee for approval before fans are allowed to support their favorites creatively. At the end of the day, fandom spaces reward initiative. The fanbases who plan early, organize well, and act decisively will naturally create bigger visibility. That’s not oppression. That’s preparation. And honestly, if some people spent half the energy they use writing guilt-trip tweets into actually planning projects for their own bias, there probably would already be more lamp posts up by now.
