I was told startups were for rich people, not someone like me. So I taught myself to code, became a software engineer, freelanced, and now I'm bootstrapping my SaaS. I built @RadiusHQTeam because service businesses deserve better than confusing websites. This is my shot.

One conversation won't change your launch. But a hundred of them? That compounds. That's how the internet actually works.

If you don't have an audience, don't wait for an algorithm to discover you. Go where your users already are. Talk to them. Help them. Ask for feedback.

That lesson has stayed with me ever since. Platforms change. Algorithms change. Leaderboards change. But genuine conversations compound.

Five votes became ten. Ten became fifteen. Fifteen became nineteen. Slowly, painfully, one conversation at a time.

Most people ignored me. Some replied. Some tried the product. Some actually supported the launch. That's all it took.

I searched X for every Product Hunt launch I could find. Every founder. Every maker. Every pre-launch post. I replied to hundreds of people. Not asking for upvotes. Just asking for feedback.

I did something embarrassingly simple. I started talking to people. Not influencers. Not investors. Just builders.

How did my exploding notifications turn into five votes? I still don't know. Maybe they were filtered. Maybe they were bots. Maybe they just didn't count. Nobody explained. Nobody will.

My notification badge kept growing. Upvotes. Comments. Engagement. Then I clicked them. They weren't there. Gone. Disappeared. The platform giveth, and the platform taketh away.

There's an entire underground economy built around Product Hunt rankings. Established accounts. Private networks. Secret pricing. I didn't know whether to be angry or impressed.

Within an hour of launching, I started getting DMs. Not from customers. From people offering to sell me the top spot on Product Hunt. "If you want #1, pay us."

Not every upvote counts the same on Product Hunt. They weight users to fight bots. On paper, it makes sense. In reality, it creates a system nobody fully understands.

Product Hunt randomizes listings at the start of the day to be "fair." But I still have no idea how a system with 650+ launches and weighted votes is supposed to be transparent.
