Elon has stopped Nikita's nonsense for now but the damage is already done many just realized how fragile building their brand on X alone has become, especially if you are not living in the US -- the uncertainty is enough to trigger action @X's biggest strength is its network effect it's hard to compete audience- and distribution-wise against X people don't want to move elsewhere, because it consumes time to build a solid brand, audience, and achieve a similar distribution in other places however, the uncertainity Nikita's actions have been generating are a very good motivator for everyone directed affected by them i have been working to build a brand on substack (thecoding.substack-com and /vinibarbosa on notes) i'll probably get back to posting on vinibarbosa@infosec.exchange (mastodon) too i'm also seriously considering not renewing my Premium subscription on X on July 13, unless i get some assurances that the nonsense and the distribution supression on topics i'm mostly interested about (crypto, privacy, open-source development, cybersecurity, etc) has stopped i've already downgraded from Premium plus last year, btw
