@AndrewDLowery @adamboxer1 Ha! I remember this doing the rounds when I was just out of NQT about 16 years ago. I also remember using it in an interview lesson to much raising of eyebrows 😆😆😆😆😆😆
English

@adamboxer1 We had CPD on ‘engaging’ ways to capture prior knowledge, one of example was ‘snowballing’ - write your idea on paper, scrunch it up and throw it at someone, then you unscrunch and read the papers.
Did it in a lesson for the sake of ‘supporting the initiative’ and was told off!
English

Have you heard any nonsense ideas in training or CPD in last 6 months? Was it external or in house?
Adam Boxer@adamboxer1
I think as a system we are getting better at teacher training but every so often I see something and think "damn we've still got a way to go" We are *burdened* by the weight of decades of bad ideas.

We were thrilled to welcome three outstanding guest speakers for today’s INSET! Staff enjoyed thought-provoking CPD sessions focused on key educational priorities and left inspired with new ideas to take into the classroom. 👏

A huge pleasure today to visit the @TheRadclyffe, Chadderton, Lancs, to talk about the classroom implications of the @oracycommission report. Thanks to all the staff for such a warm welcome to their wonderful school. A bonus to bump into the indefatigable @Sue_Cowley

@RealGeoffBarton @TheRadclyffe @oracycommission @Sue_Cowley Thank you so much again for your time today. It was a real privilege to have you spending time with our staff, and the input from you - and all our guests - was absolutely what we needed to hear.

@BexBookaholic Love, love, love Backman and it reminded me of Beartown too. (Although I struggled with Beartown no 2 which I found really repetitive but no 3 was beautiful.) Amazingly emotive writer.
English

A stunning love song to childhood friendship, loss and the redemptive power of art, I finished this earlier today sobbing. Backman is without doubt THE author of our generation and I am in awe of his talent. Up there with the Beartown Trilogy, this is one of the best things I've ever read. #BookTwitter

@BexBookaholic @PJSkinnerAuthor Search online for Ben's in an orange bottle. Almost 100% DEET and the only thing that works for me - much needed as I'm also allergic to the bites 😣. Not cheap, but worth every penny. You can usually find it on Amazon.
