This is nonsense. To make that stamp duty saving you'd need to be buying a £500,000+ property. With 10% deposit, cheapest fix mortgage would cost £2,400/mth (£28,000/yr). How can someone on £30k afford that I am asking treasury to remove.

Treasury source tells me that first @RishiSunak knew that @sajidjavid was resigning was AFTER he put out his own resignation statement. The claim is these resignations were not coordinated. Which makes them 1) more damaging for the prime minister and 2) raises possibility…

According to a government source in the @Telegraph, Chris Pincher was appointed deputy chief whip because under something called “HR Law” (!!!) the PM is “not allowed to deny someone employment on the basis of rumour or speculation”. Really? Prime ministers…
