Too many learn sexual health from social media, not doctors A young man walked into my clinic, visibly worried. “Doc, it burns when I pee after sex. But I always pee right after. My friends said that prevents infections.” For a moment, he sounded confident. Then he went quiet. I ran some tests. When the result came back, his face changed. Chlamydia. He didn’t expect that. Peeing after sex may flush a little, but it doesn’t prevent STIs. These infections don’t just sit in urine, they hide in tissues, where urine can’t reach. He was lucky. We caught it early. Treated quickly. No complications. But not everyone is that lucky. Too many people are learning sexual health from WhatsApp groups and random posts instead of real medical advice.
