Apparently this is controversial bc ive gotten into fights with people and told “so you’re boring!” (as a SA surviver with severe trauma over how violent it was) not every vtuber is a lewdtuber and not every vtuber wants to be sexualized, receive sexual comments, be flirted with or receive sexual artwork. and thats okay. Boundaries exist for a reason. I’ve purged almost every person who goes against my boundaries out of my space and I don’t feel bad about it.

I don’t understand the “A streamer shouldn’t use their own emotes in another streamer’s chat” argument. You had them custom made and paid money to be able to use them to express yourself and your messages + your own character is a representation of you. Use them how you want 💀

dead by daylight public lobbies are often SO openly hostile to people who just want to play a normal game😱 it’s no old school CoD lobby lol, but it’s still trash. just more of a headache than it’s worth since a big feature of the game isn’t usable unless you love slurs🙄

@2dcasual it seems silly to use vgen (a platform based around vtubers) and then charging extra if someone is in fact a vtuber😂 i mean i appreciate that they’re at least being up front about their (imho) flawed logic. this way potential customers know to look for a more reasonable artist😕

found an artist on vgen id really love to work with, but for ANY ART of vtubers they have a +100% commercial fee. Regardless of if you use it for streaming or financial gain or not, you will be charged an extra 100% for just being a vtuber. why use vgen at that point?

@TheUnhanded yes BUT depending on how big of a following someone has, it would be unrealistic to release the name publicly and just say “don’t attack them”. it isn’t fair, but that’s the downside of having like 20k+ followers. if an artist wanted the name i’d just suggest sending it in dms.

also, “vtuber” never made much sense to me anyway. most vtubers aren’t even on youtube and that’s clearly where part of the name comes from. like obv use whatever term you want, but let’s not pretend that “vtuber” makes 100% sense for those who NEVER use youtube at all😂

idk who came up with “vtuber”, but if it has been ~ruined~ then why not make a new term?🤔 a term that ONLY applies to those with art to represent them and NEVER show their face/reveal their irl identity. you can’t turn back time, but you can move forward with more specificity.

Original VTubing died the moment face reveals became acceptable. The core rule back in the days was simple: you are the character, not like real you. Handcams and cosplay never hurt that. Showing your actual face does. It kills the immersion, kills the fantasy, and turns the whole thing into budget Twitch thirst-trapping. We didn't gatekeep hard enough, so now the timeline is flooded with "VTuber vs IRL" slop from girls who realized putting a PNG over their cam lets them farm simps twice as efficiently. One such example is an OF girl burrowing the label of vtuber, cuz that's way better than being called an onlyfans or fansly girl, surely. The old fans who actually cared about the medium get called gatekeepers while the new normal becomes low-effort e-thottery with anime stickers. The enshittification of a niche truly.

I want to address something important. To everyone who feels hurt by me: whether it was something I said, did, or failed to understand, I’m genuinely sorry. Hearing so many people come forward with their own stories has made me reflect deeply. Even if I don’t agree with every detail or remember things the same way, I know that if multiple people are saying they were hurt, then something I did caused that pain, and I have to own that. I’m human. I’m flawed. I make mistakes, and I’m learning that intent isn’t the same as impact. I don’t want to run from this, and I don’t want to hide behind excuses. I want to face my shortcomings and work to be better. I’m committed to growing, listening, and making sure I don’t repeat the same mistakes. I know this won’t fix everything overnight, and I don’t expect immediate forgiveness, but I do hope I can earn trust back over time by changing, not just saying I will. Thank you to those who were honest with me, even when it was painful to hear. I’m going to do better.
